Intimacy in Chaos
Intimacy, chaos, college life, youth
These are the words that came to mind when conceptualizing this project.
Essentially, this series focuses on the intimacy between college students within chaotic spaces. I wanted to match the energy of these scenes by photographing them in a disorienting way. I aimed to capture the mood of these moments and the nature of college student life. I chose to center my photos around the two social spheres of my life: my roommates and my campus ministry.
These images emphasize the fun and chaotic energy within these spaces while also showcasing how people interact with one another. I wanted to compare these intimate interactions in both small gatherings and larger ones.
These images focus on hands and feet rather than faces since I feel like these limbs can say a lot about a person or situation. These disembodied subjects also add dynamism to the images that emphasize the spontaneous, cramped, and intimate feelings I am trying to evoke in this work.
