Inconstance
This series engages in an environmentalist conversation regarding modern urbanization. In a world increasingly focused on urban development, we witness a relentless cycle of the construction and demolition of structures that fortify a capitalist society. This project highlights these observations, but also shows the hidden beauty amidst these unappealing sites by accentuating their details. I believe that appreciating the small details of these spaces, finding the art in our everyday, can help us to cope with the knowledge of their negative impacts on our environment.
Titled, "Inconstance," this series reveals the predictably unpredictable nature of construction - an ever-present inconvenience in our daily lives. I wanted to challenge the existing perceptions of these sites in the city of Denton by showing their unexpected beauty.
